Ritesh Agarwal-led OYO has entered into a strategic partnership with the Goa Tourism Department, setting ambitious goals to transform the state’s hospitality landscape. As part of this collaboration, OYO plans to add over 500 hotels to its portfolio in Goa, creating more than 5,000 new job opportunities within the next year. This initiative aligns with efforts to elevate Goa’s tourism sector while offering vital support to small and first-generation hoteliers.
The partnership aims to empower local entrepreneurs and ensure their sustainable growth through initiatives like OYO’s Accelerator Program, launched by Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte. This program is designed to enhance the profitability and operational efficiency of local hoteliers, equipping them with the tools and resources needed to navigate the competitive tourism industry.
At a special ceremony in Panaji, Minister Khaunte distributed cheques worth Rs 25 lakh to five beneficiaries of the Accelerator Program. The recipients included Roshan Oscar Abraam Lorena (Panjim), Ajay Singhal and Akhil Gupta (Calangute), and Mohammad Bakir Ali (Madgaon). This gesture underscores the government’s and OYO’s shared commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening Goa’s tourism ecosystem.
OYO’s presence in Goa has already played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s tourism industry, which thrives as a popular destination for both domestic and international travelers. With this latest partnership, OYO is poised to make an even greater impact by providing small-scale hoteliers with the infrastructure, branding, and operational support needed to thrive in the evolving market.
Goa’s tourism sector continues to contribute significantly to the local economy, and this collaboration is expected to attract a wider range of tourists by offering enhanced accommodation options. By focusing on job creation, entrepreneurial support, and industry innovation, the partnership between OYO and the Goa Tourism Department marks a new chapter in fostering economic growth and inclusivity within the state’s hospitality industry.
This initiative reflects OYO’s broader mission to drive growth and innovation in the travel and hospitality sector across India, reinforcing its role as a key player in the industry while uplifting local communities and economies.
