Peak XV Leads $50 Million Funding Round in AI Voice Startup Vapi

AI voice technology startup Vapi has raised $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Peak XV Partners, as investor interest in conversational AI and enterprise voice automation continues to grow rapidly. The San Francisco-based company is developing software infrastructure for AI voice agents that can automate customer support and business communications across industries.

The latest investment reportedly values Vapi at around $500 million post-money, marking a major milestone for the fast-growing startup. According to reports, the company has gained significant traction in the enterprise market and recently handled more than one billion voice calls through its platform. Businesses including Intuit and New York Life are among the organizations already using Vapi’s voice AI systems.

Vapi’s rapid growth reflects the increasing demand for AI-powered voice assistants capable of handling customer service interactions, technical support, scheduling, and other operational tasks. Companies worldwide are investing heavily in conversational AI as businesses seek to improve efficiency while reducing operational costs. Analysts believe voice AI is emerging as one of the fastest-growing segments within enterprise artificial intelligence.

Reports also suggest that Amazon selected Vapi to manage all customer calls for Ring during the holiday season after evaluating more than 40 competing AI voice vendors. The partnership significantly boosted the startup’s profile within the enterprise AI ecosystem and demonstrated growing confidence in AI-powered voice automation systems for large-scale consumer operations.

The funding round attracted participation from major venture capital firms including Kleiner Perkins, highlighting strong investor confidence in AI infrastructure startups. Venture capital activity surrounding generative AI, voice agents, and automation technologies has surged dramatically over the past year as companies race to build intelligent enterprise tools capable of handling complex business workflows.

Industry observers note that AI voice technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated due to advances in large language models, speech recognition, and real-time conversational systems. Startups like Vapi are now competing to build scalable infrastructure that enables businesses to deploy highly human-like AI voice agents across customer support, healthcare, finance, and retail operations. As enterprise adoption accelerates, the voice AI market is expected to witness substantial expansion in the coming years.
