Saafe Tech Launches Unified Credit Assessment Report for Data-Driven Lending Decisions

  •  New solution leverages consent-based financial data to help lenders build a holistic borrower profile and streamline credit underwriting

Chennai, Saafe Tech, one of the fastest growing TSP, today introduced its Credit Assessment Report (CAR), a unified credit decisioning solution that leverages consent-based financial information from the Account Aggregator ecosystem and other approved financial data sources to help lenders make more informed, accurate and efficient lending decisions.

The launch comes at a time when India’s Account Aggregator ecosystem is witnessing rapid adoption. More than 2.88 billion financial accounts are now enabled for consent-based data sharing, while 182 Financial Information Providers (FIPs) and 1146 Financial Information Users (FIUs) are live on the network, creating one of the world’s largest consent-based financial data-sharing ecosystems.

As access to customer-permissioned financial data expands, lenders have an opportunity to move beyond document-based underwriting towards real-time, data-driven credit evaluation.

However, the growing availability of financial data has also created a new challenge. Underwriters often review multiple financial datasets independently, resulting in fragmented borrower profiles, inconsistent risk assessment and longer evaluation cycles.

Saafe’s Credit Assessment Report (CAR) addresses this challenge by creating a unified borrower profile using consented financial information available through the Account Aggregator ecosystem along with other approved financial data sources.

Rather than merely consolidating multiple reports, CAR triangulates and cross-validates financial datasets to uncover relationships and critical risk indicators that may not be apparent when analysed in isolation.

The report evaluates up to 15 financial and behavioural risk indicators, depending on the applicant’s credit profile. It provides lenders with a comprehensive assessment of repayment capacity, cash flow patterns, existing obligations and overall financial health through a single, standardised framework.

CAR generates an intelligent credit assessment report in less than 60 seconds and can be configured to align with individual lenders’ underwriting policies and rule engines.

Designed for banks, non-banking financial companies and digital lending platforms, the solution can be deployed across lending segments. Saafe expects unsecured lending and microfinance to benefit the most through quicker underwriting, improved decision quality and a more standardised assessment framework.

“Credit underwriting today is no longer constrained by the availability of data. The real challenge is interpreting financial datasets originating from multiple sources in a consistent and reliable manner. CAR transforms consent-based financial information into a single intelligence layer that helps lenders improve underwriting quality, reduce manual effort and make well-informed lending decisions,” said Venkatesh Krishnamoorti, Founder and Managing Director, Saafe.

He added, “Our long-term vision is to evolve CAR beyond a static report into an AI-powered, query-driven intelligence platform. Instead of manually navigating multiple financial reports, lenders will be able to interact with CAR using natural language queries to instantly retrieve relevant insights, explanations and supporting evidence.”

The solution is currently being piloted by three leading lending institutions.

As the Account Aggregator ecosystem continues to mature, Saafe believes the next phase of digital lending will be defined not just by access to consent-based financial data, but by the ability to transform that data into intelligent, explainable and scalable credit decisioning.
