Samsung Electronics has appointed Lee Won‑jin as the new head of its Visual Display Business, marking a key leadership shift in its core TV and display division. He succeeds Yong Seok‑woo, who will transition into an advisory role within the company’s Device Experience division.
Lee, who previously led Samsung’s Global Marketing Office, is recognized for his contributions to building the company’s TV and mobile services ecosystem. Having joined the company in 2014 after working at Google, he brings strong expertise in content, services, and global market strategy.
The leadership change comes at a time when Samsung is facing increasing pressure in the global display market, particularly from aggressively priced Chinese competitors and slowing demand in the TV segment. The reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to bring fresh direction and strengthen competitiveness in a critical business unit.
According to the company, Lee is expected to drive business transformation, identify new growth opportunities, and enhance the overall performance of the Visual Display division. His appointment also signals Samsung’s focus on adapting to evolving market dynamics and reinforcing its leadership in the global display industry.
