Tata Communications Limited has appointed Narottam Sharma as Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, effective September 21, 2026. The company’s Board of Directors approved the appointment based on the recommendation of its Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Sharma will join Tata Communications’ senior leadership team and contribute to the company’s enterprise-wide transformation agenda. His role will focus on connecting technology investments with business priorities, redesigning operating models, strengthening organisational intelligence and supporting innovation across the company’s global operations. He is also expected to contribute to transformation programmes covering core business operations, supply chain and corporate functions.
With more than two decades of professional experience, Sharma has led large-scale programmes across business transformation, digital technology, process re-engineering and artificial intelligence-led operating models. His appointment comes as Tata Communications continues to expand its digital infrastructure and enterprise technology portfolio across international markets.
Sharma most recently served as Chief Information Officer at Jubilant FoodWorks, where he led technology and transformation initiatives across the organisation. His work included simplifying business processes, optimising technology expenditure and supporting innovation while maintaining operational efficiency. Jubilant FoodWorks separately disclosed his resignation from the CIO position in July 2026.
Before joining Jubilant FoodWorks, Sharma held a senior transformation leadership position at Mastek. During his tenure, he worked on a multi-track enterprise transformation programme spanning organisational intelligence, the establishment of centres of excellence and the redesign of processes across different business functions.
He previously held a technology and transformation leadership role at Sterlite, where he supported enterprise-wide technology modernisation and business transformation initiatives intended to enable organisational growth. These assignments have provided him with experience in managing complex, cross-functional programmes and aligning technology platforms with measurable business outcomes.
Sharma holds an MBA from the Management Development Institute in Gurugram and a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
