Sarla Aviation has unveiled an ambitious plan to invest ₹1,300 crore in a 500-acre aerospace manufacturing complex in Andhra Pradesh, setting the stage for one of the state’s most significant ventures in advanced air mobility. The facility will be dedicated to producing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft — a fast-growing global segment as nations push for cleaner, faster and more efficient transportation solutions.
The initiative is poised to accelerate India’s move toward next-generation aerial mobility while strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s position as an emerging centre for aerospace innovation. Industry analysts say that eVTOL technology has the potential to reshape regional travel, medical response, cargo movement and urban transportation over the next decade.
Officials noted that the upcoming facility will create highly skilled roles across engineering, manufacturing and research, in addition to drawing ancillary investments throughout the aerospace supply chain. The Andhra Pradesh government has welcomed the project, calling it a strong boost to its goal of building a future-ready, innovation-driven industrial landscape.
With this commitment, Sarla Aviation becomes part of a growing wave of companies investing in India’s aerospace ambitions, signalling the country’s intent to expand its footprint in global aviation technology.
