Rakesh Mahajan has stepped into a new role as Senior Director of IT at FinOps Management Company. His new mandate will extend his IT leadership responsibilities across FinOps’ portfolio of businesses.
Mahajan previously served as Director of IT and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Graphite Financial, where he was involved in building the company’s IT and security foundation. He described his move to FinOps as a transition from managing technology for a single organisation to supporting IT operations across a broader portfolio.
In his new role, Mahajan will focus on standardising IT practices across portfolio companies, strengthening cybersecurity and SOC 2 compliance, and managing IT integration as part of mergers and acquisitions. His responsibilities will also include developing a scalable IT operating model that can support multiple businesses as the portfolio expands.
Mahajan brings more than two decades of experience across IT strategy, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, infrastructure, digital transformation and IT operations. Before joining FinOps, he served as the founding IT leader and CISO at Graphite, where he built the IT function and security framework from the ground up.
Earlier in his career, Mahajan held technology leadership roles at BHTC GmbH and Magna International, along with positions at organisations including Deluxe Entertainment Services Group and Intel Technology. His experience has included IT infrastructure, service delivery, security, technology transformation and governance.
