
Koninika Mitra has been appointed as Head of Human Resources at SBS India, bringing more than two decades of experience across HR business partnering, talent management, people analytics, career development, total rewards and organisational development. Her appointment has also been confirmed by SBS leadership.
Mitra joins SBS India from Amazon, where she spent more than six years and led the people function across three global business verticals. Her experience at Amazon added to a career focused on people strategy, talent development, leadership and organisational effectiveness.
Before Amazon, Mitra held senior HR positions across financial services, technology and other business sectors. Her earlier experience includes roles at HSBC and Lehman Brothers, as well as leadership positions with Times Internet and Honeywell Technologies. She has also worked as Head of Human Resources at Max Skill First Limited.
Across these roles, Mitra has worked on talent management, organisational development, leadership development, HR business partnering and business transformation initiatives. Her career has included experience in both established global organisations and technology-led businesses.
At SBS India, Mitra will work closely with the India Leadership Team on the company’s people agenda. Her responsibilities will include strengthening employee experience, supporting talent development and enhancing organisational effectiveness.
Her appointment comes as SBS continues to build its operations in India as part of its global financial technology business. SBS provides technology solutions for banks and financial institutions, with its platform covering areas including banking, lending, payments, compliance and consumer and asset finance. The company says it serves more than 1,500 financial institutions and large-scale lenders across 80 countries.
Mitra is a graduate of Presidency College and XLRI Jamshedpur. Her experience across people strategy, talent and organisational development will form part of SBS India’s efforts to strengthen its workforce and support its broader business priorities.
