New Delhi: Smarten Power Systems has appointed Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer and Senior Management Personnel, effective August 1, 2026, as the power-backup and solar-energy solutions company strengthens its manufacturing and operational leadership.
The company’s board approved Singh’s appointment on July 14 following a recommendation from its Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Smarten subsequently issued a detailed press release through the National Stock Exchange on July 16.
In his new role, Singh will oversee the company’s end-to-end operations, manufacturing excellence, supply chain, quality systems and strategic execution. His responsibilities will include improving operational efficiency and supporting Smarten’s activities in India and international markets.
Singh was previously associated with Smarten as Consultant–Vice President, Operations. During his earlier tenure, he supported the transition of the company’s in-house battery-manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, including the establishment of processes, systems and teams required for production. He will now oversee operations across the company’s existing manufacturing plants and support the operationalisation of its upcoming facility.
Rajnish Sharma, Whole-Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Smarten Power Systems, said, “As Smarten enters its next phase of growth, strengthening our leadership team is key to scaling our operations and delivering long-term value.”
Singh brings more than 52 years of experience across manufacturing, engineering, product development and operations in the power-electronics, telecommunications-power and renewable-energy sectors. His previous leadership experience includes roles at Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal India, Delta Power Solutions India, Ascom India, Benning SMC Power Systems, JCT Electronics and UPTRON Powertronics, among other companies.
Smarten Power Systems designs, assembles and supplies home UPS systems, solar inverters, solar power-conditioning units and solar charge controllers. The company operates across 23 states and two Union Territories in India and supplies products to more than 17 countries across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, according to its official release.
