
India — bigbasket has elevated Keshav Kumar to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues to expand its technology capabilities, digital commerce infrastructure, and AI-led transformation initiatives across India’s rapidly growing online grocery and quick-commerce market.
Kumar brings nearly two decades of experience in product engineering, enterprise platforms, software development, infrastructure management, and large-scale technology leadership. In his expanded role, he will lead bigbasket’s product strategy, technology innovation, AI-driven transformation, platform scalability, and customer experience initiatives.
Prior to this elevation, Kumar served as Head of Engineering at bigbasket, where he led the company’s engineering organization comprising hundreds of engineers and data scientists. During his tenure, he oversaw technology development across customer-facing applications, warehouse management systems, supply chain platforms, payments infrastructure, logistics operations, data engineering, AI/ML initiatives, security, DevOps, and SaaS-based enterprise solutions.
Earlier, he also held the position of Director of Engineering at bigbasket, leading supply chain systems and consumer technology platforms across web, Android, iOS, and progressive web applications. His leadership contributed to strengthening the company’s digital ecosystem and operational scalability across multiple business verticals including bigbasket, BB Now, BB Daily, and related commerce platforms.
Before joining bigbasket, Kumar spent more than six years at Amazon in multiple senior technology leadership roles. At Amazon Prime Video, he led global content localization and language experience initiatives, helping scale subtitle, dubbing, metadata, and localization technologies across more than 30 languages and over 190 countries and territories. He also contributed to global platform expansion initiatives for Prime Video across multiple devices and international markets.
His earlier experience includes engineering and software leadership roles at NetApp, Motorola, and NXP Semiconductors, where he worked across embedded systems, infrastructure technologies, communication protocols, storage systems, and enterprise software development.
