India — Cipla has elevated Saurabh Gambhir to the role of Chief Strategy Officer (Global), strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues to expand its global pharmaceutical business, strategic initiatives, and digital transformation efforts.
In his expanded role, Gambhir will lead enterprise strategy, global business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, portfolio growth initiatives, and long-term strategic planning across international markets. Gambhir has been associated with Cipla for more than three years and has held multiple leadership positions within the organization, including Head – Strategy and M&A (Global) and Head – Strategy, M&A, Digital – One India Business. During his tenure, he played an important role in driving strategic planning, business transformation, portfolio optimization, digital initiatives, and inorganic growth opportunities across the company’s operations.
Prior to joining Cipla, he served as Senior Director – Marketing and Portfolio Strategy at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, where he worked on portfolio development and commercial strategy initiatives. Before that, he spent several years at Intas Pharmaceuticals in leadership roles including General Manager – Sales & Marketing Nephrology and General Manager – Business Strategy, contributing to market expansion, business strategy, operational growth, and healthcare commercialization initiatives.
His earlier professional experience also includes strategy and business development roles at IMS Health and Wanbury Limited, along with an initial technology role at Tata Consultancy Services. Across these organizations, Gambhir built extensive expertise in strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, commercial excellence, portfolio management, healthcare consulting, and pharmaceutical leadership.
