GalaxEye to Launch Mission Drishti, India’s Largest Privately Built Multi-Sensor Satellite

Space-tech startup GalaxEye is preparing to make history with Mission Drishti, the world’s first multi-sensor Earth observation satellite, set for launch early next year. This milestone mission marks the start of GalaxEye’s ambitious plan to deploy a constellation of 8 to 10 satellites over the next four years. Weighing 160 kg, Mission Drishti is India’s largest privately developed satellite and offers the country’s highest imaging resolution of 1.5 meters, enabling advanced geospatial analysis across sectors including defence, disaster management, utilities, agriculture, and infrastructure monitoring.

“With Mission Drishti, we are unlocking a new era of actionable data through space exploration,” said Suyash Singh, co-founder and CEO of GalaxEye. “For the first time in the world, we are deploying a satellite that combines multiple sensing technologies on a single platform, enabling us to observe the Earth in ways that were previously impossible.” The satellite is equipped with both synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and high-resolution optical payloads, allowing continuous observation regardless of weather or daylight conditions.

Singh emphasised that the mission “places India firmly on the global space map” by translating space technology into actionable intelligence for governments, businesses, and communities. Mission Drishti has been rigorously tested to withstand extreme environmental conditions and is optimised for high spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution, reflecting GalaxEye’s commitment to delivering world-class capabilities from India’s private space sector.

The launch of Mission Drishti is a major milestone for India’s burgeoning private space ecosystem, showcasing the nation’s ability to innovate and compete on a global scale. By integrating multiple sensing technologies into a single satellite, GalaxEye aims to provide unprecedented insights into Earth observation, supporting critical decision-making in diverse sectors.

As the startup prepares to deploy its constellation over the next four years, Mission Drishti signals a transformative step in India’s space ambitions, reinforcing the country’s growing influence in the global space race while demonstrating the potential of private enterprise to drive advanced technological innovation.
