Sanjay Nair has joined CRIF Credit Information Services as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), taking charge of the company’s enterprise cybersecurity strategy and security operations. Nair announced his new position on LinkedIn, stating that his mandate will include threat management, modern Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities and multi-cloud security architecture.
In his new role, Nair will lead CRIF’s enterprise cybersecurity strategy with a focus on protecting the organisation against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. His responsibilities will also cover strengthening threat management capabilities, developing modern SOC operations and advancing multi-cloud security architecture while maintaining regulatory and compliance alignment.
Nair brings extensive experience in cloud security and technology infrastructure to the position. His public professional profile identifies him with CRIF India and describes him as an experienced cloud-security professional with around 14.8 years of experience in the field. His background includes work across cloud-security environments and related technology areas.
His technical experience includes work with major cloud and infrastructure technologies. His public profile lists certifications and credentials from organisations including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Red Hat and the Linux Foundation. These include AWS certification, Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
The appointment comes at a time when financial-services and credit-information organisations are managing an increasingly complex cybersecurity environment involving cloud infrastructure, distributed systems and evolving cyber threats. For organisations operating with sensitive financial and credit information, cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory compliance remain important components of technology operations.
Nair said his responsibilities at CRIF will include building and strengthening modern SOC capabilities as part of the organisation’s cybersecurity framework. He will also oversee multi-cloud security architecture, with the objective of protecting enterprise systems and infrastructure against sophisticated threats.
In his announcement, Nair also acknowledged the support of Krishnamohan Kandar during the transition. He wished Kandar well in his Regional Cybersecurity Leadership role and also thanked Vinay Hariharan and Rohan Mestri for their continued support and encouragement.
